Ontario Investing in Housing in Hamilton
Hamilton ― The Ontario government is investing almost $20.5 million in Hamilton to give people who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless the housing and support services they need.
Ontario’s investment will help those most in need find stable housing and gain access to support services, such as counselling, addiction services and life-skills training.
“Our government is investing in local, innovative approaches so that our most vulnerable people can move off the streets and into housing with crucial support services,” said Steve Clark, Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing. “Ontario invests more in housing and homelessness, including supportive housing, than any other level of government.”
This funding is provided through Ontario’s Home for Good program and Community Homelessness Prevention Initiative.
“This important investment will go a long way toward helping our most vulnerable find homes with the supports they need to rebuild their lives,” said Donna Skelly, MPP for Flamborough—Glanbrook. “Our funding will give Hamilton the flexibility it needs to offer programs tailored to the needs of individuals and families in our community.”
